Avalanche: Subnets and Sub-Second Finality

Explore Avalanche is unique subnet architecture, fast finality, and growing institutional DeFi presence.

What Is Avalanche?

Avalanche is a Layer 1 blockchain known for sub-second transaction finality and its innovative subnet architecture. It consists of three chains: the X-Chain (transfers), C-Chain (smart contracts), and P-Chain (staking/subnets).

Subnets

Subnets are independent networks that can have custom rules, virtual machines, and validator sets while benefiting from Avalanche's consensus. They enable enterprise and gaming use cases with dedicated performance.

DeFi Ecosystem

Trader Joe, Aave, GMX, Benqi, and Platypus are major protocols on Avalanche's C-Chain. The ecosystem focuses on DeFi and increasingly on real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.

AVAX Token

AVAX is used for gas fees, staking (earning ~8% APY), and governance. All transaction fees are burned, creating deflationary pressure.

Using Alkizen with Avalanche

Swap and bridge across Avalanche and other chains seamlessly through Alkizen's multi-chain interface.
